The Komarnica River is a tributary of Piva, in the north of Montenegro. A hydropower dam is planned to be built in the canyon, which would flood the river’s middle course.
The first Environmental Impact Assessment report was uncomplete, with many animals and plant groups not properly studied. An expedition to the Komarnica Valley was undertaken by a group of experienced ecologists to address this lack of data.
